The Effective Leader program

The Effective Leader is designed for mid-level managers with at least two years of experience in roles where they are responsible for delivering on the performance of others.

This is a fast paced program that uses experiential techniques to make rapid, relevant improvements to the way participants see themselves and their roles.

It provides a great opportunity to explore vital new approaches and develop fresh skills that will help participants maintain focus, clarity and effectiveness in the swirling, dynamic challenges.

The Effecitve Leader program focuses on the highlighted leadership competencies in The Consortium’s leadership framework above.

Program format and style

The Effective Leader program program is an energetic, action-focused program in which participants learn both by doing and by exploring their own reactions to complex leadership situations. It will:

  • engage individuals and inspire the way they lead teams;
  • provide an opportunity to apply cross-organisational learning to a real life leadership challenge being faced by participants
  • increase personal capacity to ‘step up to the plate’ and deliver results;
  • help managers become leaders who effectively navigate the organisation as they drive new ideas and new ways of operating;
  • increase individual’s awareness of their leadership style and impacts;
  • develop the capacity to swiftly assess situations and lead or follow with responsibility as necessary.

The program uses a proven range of styles and strategies to challenge the mindset of those mid-level managers who are accountable for performance across one or multiple business teams.

The program achieves powerful outcomes through a blend of experiential design, fresh thinking and a robust, practical approach to the real-world issues that challenge participants at both a personal and professional level.
