The Art of Resilience: Building the awareness and mind-set to ensure professional and organisational success

The Leadership Consortium, one of Australia’s most respected leadership development organisations, plays a key role in the learning and development of current and future leaders

For almost 20 years we have been designing and delivering leading edge executive learning and development programs to senior leaders in private and public organisations.

The Consortium is a member-based organisation with a blend of public and private membership. Our current membership includes: AGC, Australia Post, Australian Taxation Office, Boral Limited, CitiPower / Powercor, Dept of Finance & Deregulation, Geoscience Australia, IBM Australia Limited, Medibank Private, National Australia Bank, Roads and Traffic Authority, The Shell Company of Australia Ltd, Victorian Public Service (several departments and authorities).

Continuing our tradition of providing excellence, the Consortium offers The Art of Resilience program, which is one of our specialist programs, developed in conjunction with members in response to their specific needs

The Art of Resilience program

The Art of Resilience program has been developed in response to requests from members of the Consortium.

The craft of leadership involves performance under pressure: decisions are hard, trade-offs are real and the pressure to perform can take a toll.

Healthy, confident and robust leaders with well-developed emotional intelligence are more likely to make sound decisions when times are difficult.

In the challenging financial and economic era we are entering into, effective problem solving and decision-making are the critical faculties for leaders. Those faculties cannot be exercised fully when we are blunted by constant pressure without the opportunity for reflection on our experiences.

The Art of Resilience program is a highly personal, yet organisationally valuable journey that explores what it takes to sustain performance at your highest level.

The Art of Resilience program helps develop responsiveness and
emotional intelligence as they relate to key capabilities demanded by leaders in challenging environment (highlighted in red).

Target Audience

This program will particularly suit your organisation’s senior executives working in demanding situations where tolerance for error is low and expectations are high. It builds resilience and strengthens capacity through an intensive exploration of leadership from the individual and organisational perspective.

Program format and style

The Art of Resilience program starts with a detailed application and an interview with all participants prior to commencement. This process ensures the individual’s learning goals are well identified.

The program is about a deep exploration of the drivers and forces that guide our behaviour and responses to others. Participants are expected to engage in a challenging process journey that involves a change in the way they see themselves and their relationships with peers, colleagues, friends and families.

In the challenging three-day workshop, participants will learn how to better control their lives and grow their own potential.

The program uses a range of action learning techniques, tested theory and experiential activities to enhance both understanding and performance.
Following the residential workshop, participants will have two one-on-one coaching sessions to ensure the effective application of learning in the work environment.

The Art of Resilience program is a serious and challenging program that helps people understand how their own and others’ behaviour affects the performance of their organisation.
